Buzzin Trivia

Page was established as a result of the building of Glen Canyon Dam. Located in extreme north-central Arizona near the Utah border and situated on a mesa, Page was a planned community developed in the 1960’s by the Bureau of Reclamation to provide headquarters and to house workers for the building of the Glen Canyon Dam. The town is named for John C. Page, who spent many years planning and developing the proposed dam site while serving as Commissioner of Reclamation. He died in 1955 before construction of the dam began. It was completed in 1964. Page is a gateway to Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

Page has more than 3 million visitors per year, and their average stay is 48 hours, the highest in the National Park Service. Page is a young town with the average age of residents being between 33 – 40 years old.
