Page was established as a result of the building of Glen Canyon Dam. Located in extreme north-central Arizona near the Utah border and situated on a mesa, Page was a planned community developed in the 1960s by the Bureau of Reclamation to provide headquarters and to house workers for the building of the Glen Canyon Dam.
